Ingredients:
- 2 cups heavy cream, chilled
- 1 cup whole milk, chilled
- 3/4 cup granulated sugar
- 1 pinch fine sea salt
- 1 whole vanilla bean, split and scraped
- 1 tbsp vodka
Instructions:
- Combine the chilled whole milk, sugar, and salt in a mixing bowl. Whisk vigorously until the sugar is completely dissolved. Stir in the scraped vanilla bean seeds and the pod.
- Slowly pour in the heavy cream and the vodka. Whisk gently until the mixture is cohesive. Chill the base in the refrigerator for at least 2 hours before churning.
- Turn on the automatic ice cream maker and pour the chilled mixture into the frozen bowl. Churn until the ice cream reaches a soft-serve consistency, typically 20-30 minutes.
- Scrape the sides of the bowl with a rubber spatula. Transfer the ice cream into an airtight container, press parchment paper directly onto the surface, and freeze for at least 4 hours.
