Ingredients:
- 1 cup (225g) unsalted butter, softened to room temperature
- 3 cups (360g) powdered sugar, sifted
- 3/4 cup (75g) unsweetened cocoa powder, sifted
- 1 tsp (5ml) pure vanilla extract
- 3 tbsp (45ml) whole milk
- 1/4 tsp (1.5g) fine sea salt
Instructions:
- Beat the softened butter on medium-high speed for 3-5 minutes until the butter transforms from yellow to a pale, almost white cream.
- Turn the mixer to low and gradually add the sifted powdered sugar and cocoa powder. Once combined and no longer puffing, increase speed to medium and beat for 2 minutes.
- Add the vanilla extract, salt, and 2 tablespoons of milk. Whip on high speed for 60 seconds.
- If the frosting is too stiff to spread, add the remaining tablespoon of milk one teaspoon at a time until the texture is velvety and glossy.
