Ingredients:

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 3/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 tsp baking powder
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1/2 cup plain non-fat Greek yogurt
  • 2 large eggs, room temperature
  • 1 tsp pure vanilla extract
  • 1/4 cup whole milk
  • 1 cup mini semi-sweet chocolate chips
  • 1 tbsp all-purpose flour

Instructions:

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9-inch round cake pan and line the bottom with parchment paper.
  2. In a small bowl, toss the mini semi-sweet chocolate chips with 1 tablespoon of flour until evenly coated; set aside.
  3. Whisk together the softened unsalted butter and granulated sugar until the mixture is pale and fluffy.
  4. Beat in the eggs one at a time, followed by the pure vanilla extract and plain non-fat Greek yogurt.
  5. Sift in the all-purpose flour, baking powder, and salt.
  6. Gently pour in the whole milk and fold the ingredients together with a spatula until just combined, stopping as soon as no dry streaks remain.
  7. Gently stir in the flour-coated chocolate chips.
  8. Pour the batter into the prepared pan, smooth the top, and bake for 30 minutes until a toothpick comes out clean.
