Ingredients:

  • 2 cups heavy whipping cream, chilled
  • 1 cup whole milk, chilled
  • 3/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 tbsp pure vanilla extract
  • 1/4 tsp fine sea salt

Instructions:

  1. Combine the chilled heavy cream, whole milk, and sugar in a mixing bowl. Whisk vigorously until the sugar grains have completely dissolved and the mixture looks uniform. Stir in the vanilla extract and salt.
  2. Pour the mixture into your frozen ice cream maker canister. Turn the machine on and allow it to churn until the mixture reaches a soft-serve consistency, typically when it looks thick and holds a soft peak.
  3. Transfer the churned ice cream into an airtight freezer-safe container. Press a piece of parchment paper or plastic wrap directly onto the surface of the ice cream to prevent ice crystals from forming.
  4. Freeze for at least 4 hours, or until firm.
