Ingredients:
- 2 cups heavy whipping cream
- 1 cup whole milk
- 3/4 cup granulated sugar
- 1 tbsp vanilla extract
- 1/4 tsp fine sea salt
- 2 tbsp powdered milk
- 2 cups cubed birthday cake
- 1/3 cup rainbow sprinkles
Instructions:
- Combine the whole milk, sugar, salt, and powdered milk in a saucepan over medium heat. Whisk constantly until the sugar completely dissolves and the mixture is steaming but not boiling.
- Remove the saucepan from heat and stir in the vanilla extract and heavy cream.
- Pour the mixture into a bowl, cover it, and refrigerate for at least 4 hours (or overnight) until the base is cold to the touch.
- Pour the chilled base into an ice cream maker and churn according to the manufacturer's instructions, usually 20 to 25 minutes, until it reaches a soft-serve consistency.
- In the final 2 minutes of churning, fold in the cubed cake pieces and rainbow sprinkles until distributed.
