Ingredients:

  • 2 cups heavy whipping cream
  • 1 cup whole milk
  • 3/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 tbsp vanilla extract
  • 1/4 tsp fine sea salt
  • 2 tbsp powdered milk
  • 2 cups cubed birthday cake
  • 1/3 cup rainbow sprinkles

Instructions:

  1. Combine the whole milk, sugar, salt, and powdered milk in a saucepan over medium heat. Whisk constantly until the sugar completely dissolves and the mixture is steaming but not boiling.
  2. Remove the saucepan from heat and stir in the vanilla extract and heavy cream.
  3. Pour the mixture into a bowl, cover it, and refrigerate for at least 4 hours (or overnight) until the base is cold to the touch.
  4. Pour the chilled base into an ice cream maker and churn according to the manufacturer's instructions, usually 20 to 25 minutes, until it reaches a soft-serve consistency.
  5. In the final 2 minutes of churning, fold in the cubed cake pieces and rainbow sprinkles until distributed.
