Ingredients:

  • 2 1/4 tsp instant yeast
  • 1 cup warm milk
  • 1/4 cup honey
  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter, melted and cooled
  • 1 large egg
  • 3 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 2 tbsp ground cinnamon
  • 1 pinch salt
  • 4 oz cream cheese, softened
  • 2 tbsp Greek yogurt
  • 2 tbsp maple syrup
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract

Instructions:

  1. Combine warm milk, honey, and yeast in a bowl and let sit for 5 minutes until foamy.
  2. Stir in the melted butter and egg, then gradually fold in the flour and salt.
  3. Knead the dough until smooth and tacky, then let it rest in a warm spot for 10 minutes to relax the gluten.
  4. On a lightly oiled surface, roll the dough into a 12x18 inch rectangle.
  5. Spread softened butter evenly across the dough, then sprinkle with a mixture of cinnamon and sugar.
  6. Roll the dough tightly from the long edge into a log and cut into 12 even pieces using dental floss.
  7. Place rolls in a prepared 9x13 inch baking pan and let them rise in the oven while it preheats to 350°F (175°C) for 10 minutes.
  8. Bake for 20 minutes or until the edges are a deep amber gold.
  9. While rolls cool for 5 minutes, whisk together cream cheese, Greek yogurt, maple syrup, and vanilla extract.
  10. Spread the glaze over the warm cinnamon rolls.
