Ingredients:
- 2 1/4 tsp instant yeast
- 1 cup warm milk
- 1/4 cup honey
- 1/4 cup unsalted butter, melted and cooled
- 1 large egg
- 3 cups all-purpose flour
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1/4 cup unsalted butter, softened
- 1/2 cup brown sugar
- 2 tbsp ground cinnamon
- 1 pinch salt
- 4 oz cream cheese, softened
- 2 tbsp Greek yogurt
- 2 tbsp maple syrup
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
Instructions:
- Combine warm milk, honey, and yeast in a bowl and let sit for 5 minutes until foamy.
- Stir in the melted butter and egg, then gradually fold in the flour and salt.
- Knead the dough until smooth and tacky, then let it rest in a warm spot for 10 minutes to relax the gluten.
- On a lightly oiled surface, roll the dough into a 12x18 inch rectangle.
- Spread softened butter evenly across the dough, then sprinkle with a mixture of cinnamon and sugar.
- Roll the dough tightly from the long edge into a log and cut into 12 even pieces using dental floss.
- Place rolls in a prepared 9x13 inch baking pan and let them rise in the oven while it preheats to 350°F (175°C) for 10 minutes.
- Bake for 20 minutes or until the edges are a deep amber gold.
- While rolls cool for 5 minutes, whisk together cream cheese, Greek yogurt, maple syrup, and vanilla extract.
- Spread the glaze over the warm cinnamon rolls.
