Ingredients:
- 1/2 cup (115g) unsalted butter, softened
- 1/2 cup (45g) unsweetened cocoa powder, sifted
- 2 1/2 cups (300g) powdered sugar
- 3 tbsp (45ml) heavy cream
- 1 tsp (5ml) pure vanilla extract
- 1/4 tsp (1.5g) fine sea salt
Instructions:
- Beat the softened butter in a mixing bowl on medium-high speed for about 2 minutes until it reaches a pale, creamy consistency.
- Sift the cocoa powder directly into the butter and mix on low speed until fully incorporated and the mixture looks like a deep, dark paste.
- Add the powdered sugar one cup at a time, starting on the lowest speed to avoid a sugar cloud, then increasing to medium speed until the mixture is stiff.
- Pour in the heavy cream, vanilla extract, and salt. Whip on high for 1-2 minutes until the frosting is glossy and spreadable.
