Ingredients:

  • 2 lbs fresh strawberries, hulled and quartered
  • 2 tbsp pure maple syrup
  • 1 tbsp freshly squeezed lemon juice
  • 1 tsp pure vanilla extract
  • 1 pinch fine sea salt

Instructions:

  1. Wash the strawberries thoroughly and pat them completely dry to avoid diluting the syrup. Remove the green hulls and slice the berries into uniform quarters.
  2. Place the sliced berries in a large glass mixing bowl. Drizzle the maple syrup, lemon juice, and vanilla extract over the berries and sprinkle with a pinch of salt.
  3. Gently toss the mixture with a silicone spatula or spoon, ensuring the berries are coated without being crushed.
  4. Cover the bowl and let the berries sit at room temperature for 30 minutes to allow the sugars to dissolve and the juices to release.
  5. Stir once more and transfer the bowl to the refrigerator for an additional 30 minutes to set the flavors before serving.
