Ingredients:
- 2 lbs fresh strawberries, hulled and quartered
- 2 tbsp pure maple syrup
- 1 tbsp freshly squeezed lemon juice
- 1 tsp pure vanilla extract
- 1 pinch fine sea salt
Instructions:
- Wash the strawberries thoroughly and pat them completely dry to avoid diluting the syrup. Remove the green hulls and slice the berries into uniform quarters.
- Place the sliced berries in a large glass mixing bowl. Drizzle the maple syrup, lemon juice, and vanilla extract over the berries and sprinkle with a pinch of salt.
- Gently toss the mixture with a silicone spatula or spoon, ensuring the berries are coated without being crushed.
- Cover the bowl and let the berries sit at room temperature for 30 minutes to allow the sugars to dissolve and the juices to release.
- Stir once more and transfer the bowl to the refrigerator for an additional 30 minutes to set the flavors before serving.
