Frequently Asked Questions

Before sending an email, please check if your question is answered below. We've compiled the most common questions from our community:

Q: Can I substitute ingredients in your recipes?

A: Yes, but proceed with caution! Baking, in particular, is a precise science, and substitutions can drastically change the texture and flavor of the final dish. We always try to list tested, successful substitutions in the notes section of each recipe card. If a specific substitution isn't listed there, it means we haven't tested it in our kitchen, so we cannot guarantee the results.

Q: Can I use your photos or recipes on my own blog?

A: We work incredibly hard to develop our recipes and capture original photography. You may use exactly one (1) photo if you provide a clear, do-follow link back to the original recipe post on Amy's Recipes and give full, visible credit. You may NOT republish the entire recipe, ingredient list, or instructions under any circumstances. For commercial use inquiries, please contact our media team first.

Q: Do you provide nutritional information for your recipes?

A: Yes! Most of our recipes include an estimated nutritional breakdown at the bottom of the recipe card. Please note that these figures are calculated automatically using a third-party online tool. They are estimates and can vary significantly based on the specific brands of ingredients you purchase and your exact portion sizes.

Q: How do I print a recipe without all the photos and text?

A: We've made this easy! Scroll down to the actual recipe card at the bottom of any post. In the top right corner of the card, you will see a "Print Recipe" button. Clicking this generates a clean, ad-free version perfectly formatted for your home printer, saving your ink and paper.

Q: Why didn't my recipe turn out looking exactly like your picture?

A: There are countless variables in home cooking! Home oven temperatures can vary wildly (we highly recommend an inexpensive oven thermometer), local humidity affects flour absorption, and ingredients differ slightly by brand. We style our food to show its best features, but as long as your dish tastes delicious, you've succeeded!

Check the comments section of the recipe—often other readers share helpful tips for adapting to different environments.

Q: I'm on a specific diet (Gluten-Free, Dairy-Free, High-Protein). How do I find recipes?

A: You can use the search bar at the top of the page, or browse our "Categories" section. We try to tag our recipes accurately so you can filter for specific dietary needs, such as high-protein lunches or comforting dinners.

Q: Can I submit my own family recipe to Amy's Recipes?

A: Currently, we are not accepting outside recipe submissions. Every recipe on our site goes through a rigorous internal triple-testing process by our team to guarantee it works. However, we absolutely love hearing your suggestions! Feel free to email us to let us know what types of recipes you'd love to see us develop next.

Q: How do I unsubscribe from your newsletter?

A: We are always sad to see you go! There is an "Unsubscribe" link located at the very bottom of every single email newsletter we send. Click that link, follow the prompt, and you will be removed from our mailing list immediately.
